I’m BACK!!!!!

OMG!!!!!!!!! I graduated from college everyone and I am so excited. I was a full-time E-Campus student at Oregon State University where I received my Bachelors Degree in Liberal Studies with my focus on Women’s Studies and Communication. My journey was not easy but, if I can offer and kind of advice to anyone needing it it’s to focus on yourself and block out the noise. People will talk and say mean things but remember you’re not on anyone’s schedule but your own. NEVER GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS!

With that being said, I can now blog full-time and super excited. But, before I end this post I wanted to let everyone know I hit 1K on Instagram and doing a giveaway.  I will link my IG account down below so don’t forget to check out the goodies I will be giving away to one lucky follower.

My YOUTUBE Channel

Hello!!

Sorry, I’ve been a little MIA lately I’m four weeks out from finishing up my degree so the workload is intense. But, with that being said I have created my YouTube channel and I am so excited but very nervous. I’m nervous because I’ve never filmed myself let alone put it on the web for so many people to see. I’ve been a huge YouTube fan for many years and really look forward to seeing new videos from my favorite vloggers and I aspire to have the same kind of impact on others.

I want to share everything I’ve learned about skin care and recommend all sorts of goodies. I’m not a skincare professional but, I like to think I know something and to me, the best way to learn about products and get ideas is from other people. We are the ones that go out and purchase products try them out and see for ourselves if they work on our skin type.

My videos will consist of product reviews, recommendation a glimpse into my crazy life. In return, I hope to make friends with like-minded individuals and have an impact in any way I can.

Lastly, don’t forget to subscribe to my channel so you can be the first informed when my very first video is uploaded.

Top Two Masks of 2018

I love #maskmonday and #selfcaresunday and the masks I’m about to talk about are my favorite of 2018.

1.) The Super Hydrating Sheet Mask – GLOW BOOSTING (ranges from $2.50- $2.99 USD)

image6

This mask is AMAZING and I am not exaggerating one bit. It’s one of those mask you put on wait 15 minutes, remove and BAMMMM an instant glow, and I mean GLOW! Not only does it illuminate your skin it also hydrates. Another perk about this mask is that it drenches your skin and it’s easy to use. I typically use one of these sheet masks 2-3 times a week depending on if I have any but, I always try to make sure I repurchase.

Info about the mask: A water based sheet mask that is free of parabens, and oils. Half of a bottle of hydrating serum is added to each sheet mask which explains why it’s drenched in serum when it’s removed from the packaging.

Sheet masks can sometimes be a pain but, this mask has a blue film on it that it a different texture than the sheet mask which makes it easier to use. After removing place onto clean dry skin and leave on for 15 minutes. After removes and rub in the remainder of the products that’s left on your face gently.

2.) Orgins – Clear Improvements Active Charcoal Mask to Clear Pores (ranges from $17.50-$28.00 USD depending on the size)

Mask1

This mask is hands down the best clay mask I have ever used and I’ve tried many. First off, this mask is great for all skin types and it’s supposed to awaken dull skin, eliminate pores and help with oiliness.

What makes this mask such a good buy for me is that is really does help with dullness and pores. Every once in a while I look in the mirror and notice my skin looks tired, and I have no glow and this usually happens in the summer for me because my skin tends to look dry during the Texas summers. So, I used this 1-2 times a week and it really helped balance my skin.

Info about the mask: The active charcoal does an amazing job at drawing out all of the toxins that sit on your skin from environmental damage. It will take your dull skin and refresh it without over drying. The bamboo charcoal helps with over production of oil but doesn’t strip your skin too much of it’s natural production. Remember oil isn’t our enemy but, if you don’t clean your skin daily it can overproduce and lead to blackheads.

I normally use this product 1-2 times a week depending on how my skin looks and from there I apply a generous amount to dry clean skin. I let it sit for 10-15 minutes but, the instructions say 10. After rinse with warm water, pat dry and follow with your am/pm skincare routine.

Let me know what your favorites masks are and if you’ve tried the two I’ve listed. Also, I love recommendations so tell me yours!!

A Feeling Like No Other

Have any of you tried The Ordinary’s 30 % AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) + 2% BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid) Peeling Solution? If you haven’t oh boy, are you in for a treat. This stuff is intense, and if you haven’t tried it yet I think you should give it a shot. It’s very inexpensive as is many of the products from this company. You can purchase it at  www.theordinary.com for $7.20 USD.

TheOrdinary

This mask is very powerful and not recommended for sensitive skin, and because it has a high concentration of free acids do not leave it on longer then 10-minutes. If you experience any kind of irritation stop using it to prevent further issues.

What I love about this mask is what it does! The AHA exfoliates the top layer of skin not to mention evens and brighten your skin tone. The BHA also exfoliates and helps with clearing out your pores.

THE RESULTS

I love this mask but, I have to admit I had to get used to the intensity of it because when I initially applied it it felt like tiny needles were stabbing my face. I wouldn’t say it’s a bad feeling, it’s just different. After using the entire 30 ml bottle I did notice changes especially where I tend to have the most pores which is around my nose. My face did look brighter but, nothing amazing. With that being said, I will continue to repurchase this item because I love the price and I look forward to using it.

Let me know if you used it!

Laneige Multi Cleanser Review

When it comes to cleansers I am obsessed with finding the perfect one and let me tell you I have purchased so many different types of cleansers throughout the years that I was surprised I actually stuck with this one without switching it up. I have to admit that I have purchased others to try out but, they have been underneath my bathroom sink awaiting their debut.

Laneige

The Laneige Multi Cleanser is the first product I have used from this company and it can be purchased at Sephora for $23.00 or online at www.us.laneige.com. It’s a little pricey but, I’ll explain why it’s worth it.

  1. IT WORKS! – It melts away makeup, sunscreen without stripping your skin of it’s natural oils, removes unwanted dead skin and leaves your skin looking bright.
  2. A  little goes a long way! I used this cleanser 2x/day everyday and it lasted me three months. So, when you break it down that’s $7.66/month on a cleanser which isn’t that much at all when you think about it.
  3. The packaging is simple and that’s very important to me. I’ve used other cleansers in the shower that are too involved making the cleansing experience unpleasant. With this one you just pop the top and pour a nickel sized amount onto your Clarisonic or palms of your hands.

My final verdict is that I highly recommend this cleanser, and it you’re someone who wears makeup often you can double cleanse buy purchasing Perfect Pore Cleansing Oil which retails for US$36.00 which might sound pricey but, with oils you don’t need that much at all so I can see it lasting a while.

Why now?

I’m finally starting my blog and I am so excited. I’ve been wanting to start this blog for the longest time but, I wanted to wait until I was done with school (done in November) so I can dedicate all my time to it. Creating a blog can be difficult because it takes dedication and consistency especially if you want to make something out of it, which I do. So, here I am sitting at home on my bed on a Saturday afternoon about to let it all out as to why I want to blog about skincare when I am no expert.

IMG_2526

Well, here it goes! I started to breakout here and there when I was sixteen years old and boy, did I hate it. It was a period in my life when I would constantly stare at myself in the mirror and hate what I saw but, I never really mentioned it to anyone. Inside I felt ugly, and didn’t want people getting to close to me. This went on from the ages of 16-27. My skin wasn’t bad but when I looked in the mirror I felt horrible and really held myself back from socializing. It was my own fault and I know that now. My own insecurities and self hate caused me a lot of pain. Nobody really knows this about me expect for my husband. I put him through and I’m so thankful that he saw the best in me and never let me go. Insecurities can ruin a relationship but somehow I was blessed with an amazing man and he really helped me see the bigger picture. Not to mention I grew up and began to understand that I am not alone and tons of girls and women around the world go through the same thing. No ones perfect and I’ve learned that the best thing to do is find productive ways to fix the problem. I will be turning T H I R T Y in March and I am the happiest I have ever been. I believe that by creating this blog and writing about my adventures someone will come across it and feel a sense of relief knowing that at the end of the day we as people have way more in common than we think.

My ultimate goal with this blog is to help women, build relationships, post reviews on products, share what I use and learn from others.
